Thanks for stopping by! Hey, why don't you do what all the cool kids are doing and subscribe to my RSS feed? You know you want to, so go ahead, be bad, be very very bad... :) Thanks.
Blogtipping, sounds worse than it is, I promise. The premise is that the first of every month, you post on your blog a recommendation of three blogs that you really enjoy. The idea behind Blogtipping was from Easton Ellsworth. He also suggests that with each recommendation, you give them three compliments and one tip. It’s February, the month of love, so I thought why not, let’s give a little love. My only challenge was picking out only three blogs to tip, but here it goes.
ConverStations by Mike Sansone
1 - I love Mike’s voice on his blog. After reading only a small number of posts, you really think that you know Mike and that he would be a great guy to grab a beer with.
2 - Mike’s writing is always insightful. Why I read Mike daily is that his writing always delivers for me what I call an “Oh” moment. This happens when I read something and think to myself “Oh, right. Good point”.
3 - Every post of Mike’s is original. While many bloggers, including myself, regurgitate news that has already been reported many, many times, every post of Mike’s is 100% all Mike.
Tip - Me giving Mike a tip is like me giving Michael Jordon tips on basketball, it just ain’t happening.
Mode by Dave Conrey
1 - In my Google reader, Mode has more posts that I have starred than any other site that I have in my reader. It’s a testament to thought provoking writing that I want to save and have the ability to go back to when needed.
2 - Dave’s writing conveys who he is as a person. I like when both reading and writing to understand both what the author is writing about, but also who is the author, what is he or she about. Dave puts himself into his writing.
3 - I think Mode is a great name for the site, it fits.
Tip - If I had to pick something, it would probably be from the first time that I went to the site. The header with the car did not do it for me. I understand the car and the tagline, “A Vehicle for Change”, but if I had not gone through MyBlogLog finding Dave, I might of thought this was a car site and maybe not given it a chance. Just my stupid thoughts.
Craphammer by Sean Howard
1 - Well, let’s get the obvious out of the way first. Craphammer is bar none the best damn blog name I know of. Come on, it works on so many levels.
2 - With a name like Craphammer, I did not expect the true top quality of writing that Sean delivers on a daily basis. The subjects he chooses and the way he expresses his thoughts and opinions are always incredibly interesting to me.
3 - I think one of my problems I have with some bloggers is they take themselves WAY too seriously. If you cannot laugh at yourself then who can you laugh at. Sean understands this as well and you see that in his writing.
Tip - I think the only tip I can give is that I want more!
Wow, that took longer than expected, but it is now done. So now it is your turn, choose three blogs and tip them baby!

Hi Cord, and thanks for the kind words. Your view will compel me to keep it up. If or when you do recognize an opportunity to “tip” me, I’d embrace your thoughts. Congrats on being included in Todd’s list! Stay contagious with your voice (even the soapbox posts:-)
Wow. Totally did not expect this, Cord. What a wonderful way to start the day.
I have to admit that I have tiers of RSS feeds in my bloglines. And usually I start people’s blogs out in the general marketing category and slowly move them up as I become more and more addicted to them. But yours went into the top “2.0 posse” on day one.
Thanks again and keep posting!!
Sean (still trying to figure out how to tie the comment system on my blog into mybloglog) Howard
Cord, those are some really awesome compliments. I’m beside myself on this one. Glad you’re digging what I’ve been posting. I also have a lot of your posts starred in my Reader as well.
As far as the header image, I’ve been toying with the idea of changing it. It made sense for awhile, but I’m not sure I’m 100% behind it still. I’ve gotten mixed reviews on it, some saying I should keep it and some similar to your thoughts. I’ll meditate on it. Where’s my yoga mat?
Thanks again. I’ll be paying this all forward.
Dave,
No thanks necessary, keep up the great work. In regard to your header image, because of my background, I always look at things from a “user experience” point of view. What grabs the attention of a user first and for your site, it is that header and it is pulling attention away from what is most important, which is your great writing. Just my humble opinion.
That’s a perspective I didn’t think of before. I’m definitely going to look into something different. Just have to figure out what would be a good metaphor for MODE. Thanks for the input.
