MyBlogLog Wish List

1 February 2007 by Cord Silverstein, 5 Comments

Thanks for stopping by! Hey, why don't you do what all the cool kids are doing and subscribe to my RSS feed? You know you want to, so go ahead, be bad, be very very bad... :) Thanks.

MyBlogLogI was reading a post Andy Beal put up on what kind of new features he would like to see for MyBlogLog. I thought since I had already posted a story on MyBlogLog, I would add my own two cents and make my top 5 wish list for MyBlogLog.

  1. To be able to have total control over my community pages much like how Netvibes and Pageflakes RSS aggregators work. Right now, I think the most important thing, the RSS feeds are all the way on the bottom right when, at least for me, should be in a much more prominent position so I can see what people are writing.
  2. As my last post already discussed, much stronger spam control. Give me control of who I can and cannot post on my page.
  3. Create a better experience if I want to join a community as well as add that community owner to my contacts. To be honest, I am not really sure why we have contacts in the first place. What’s important is what communities you are interested in joining. Could you automatically have the community owner added to your contacts when you join their community.
  4. I would like better control over what is hot in my communities feed. I would like to be able to break them up into categories to have a better overview of what is being read.
  5. Better stats – I do not mind if you want to charge me a nominal fee for MyBlogLog Stats Pro, but right now the Pro stats are not worth paying any money whatsoever.

What are your top 5 things you would like to see in MyBlogLog?

    Two suggestions:

    1. I would like a message board or forum of some kind.

    2. I would like a board protocol page or something to help those newbies to figure out how it all works. :-)

    3. I would like to ban all blogs that use the top ten words just to get hits! (OK, so this one is probably just my own issue)! LOL!

    :-)

    Jennifer,

I agree a newbie page would be helpful. In regard to the top 10 words, if you ban that, you are going to have to ban screenshots of scantily clad women as well and I don’t see that going away anytime soon. :)

I agree with all your wishes.

But I think that a better or an Extended Search would be fine.
A tag system for profile and blog, too

You can search for tags then. I think this will be better, then yet.

BenediktRB, great points, a tag system will help a great deal. Thanks for your comments.

    Oh, i’ve got another idea.
A list in “My Home” where you can found the newest articles from all your community. That would be very good.
Like in this blog the “recent posts”, only for all communities at mybloglog you have.
