LinkedIn a box

22 February 2007 by Cord Silverstein, 9 Comments

Thanks for stopping by! Hey, why don't you do what all the cool kids are doing and subscribe to my RSS feed? You know you want to, so go ahead, be bad, be very very bad... :) Thanks.

If you notice on my side bar to the right, you will see a cute little widget that is hooked up into my LinkedIn Profile. This was created by Linkedinabox and I thought I would give it a test drive. It allows users to view your profile without having to leave my site. I think what will determine the success or failure of this widget is its load times. If it takes too much time to load or even worse slows my overall web site load times down, we will be kicking it to the curb like so many others.

Stop it, you are going to make me blush. :) Thanks.

    I’m with Nirmal – I got a little profile-envy too :)

I read about this yesterday, and think it’s a pretty cool widget – especially for those actively using LinkedIn. It gives a way to grab the profile info without clicking away.

Gives me some incentive to actually update and clean up my profile – If I wasn’t just so darn busy.

I hear ya Tony. I was just talking to my friend JP and I was saying I wish I could find a job where my only responsibility was to blog all day!! :)

That is one of those – why didn’t I think of that – ideas. I added it to my page last week and then took it down – then just brought it back. Your profile definitely kicks a$$

Thanks Matt, I do have a question for you… What is up with your pic buddy? It looks like your face is being attacked by bees. If I can show myself anyone can.. :)

There is an error in your sidebar code for single pages and in the footer

I have seen the widget before, and didn’t like the security issues, in the same way the only sites I will give Google details to are ones owned by Google.
You can always use target=”_blank” for the link to your profile.

    heh you fixed it :)

LOL, thanks Andy. I was playing around with the code, got it fixed. Thanks again.
