Hipster in the Viral Garden’s Top 25!

21 March 2007 by Cord Silverstein, 7 Comments

Thanks for stopping by! Hey, why don't you do what all the cool kids are doing and subscribe to my RSS feed? You know you want to, so go ahead, be bad, be very very bad... :) Thanks.

Top 25I just found out that Marketing Hipster has made Viral Garden’s Top 25 Marketing blog list! I am sure that most of you are familiar with the Viral Garden, but if you are not, it is a supreme blog written by Mack Collier. He puts out a list every week based on Alexa rankings on the top 25 marketing blogs.

As I have written in the past, this blog was started initially as an internal tool for the company I work for, but has gone in several new and exciting directions. The only reason I am bringing this up is to thank once again all the great people who have made this possible which is you the readers. At times it is incredibly frustrating for me trying to juggle a full time job while doing a good job on this blog. I don’t think I have gotten to the level I would like here, but I am going to continually try to raise the bar on what you will find here at Marketing Hipster. Once again, thank you to everyone.

Cord you are doing great on the accolades this week.

I wouldn’t even nudge Mack to consider me for the list because I probably have a higher percentage of readers who use search status for firefox. I would currently debut at No.5, which wouldn’t be fair on some of the quality blogs that have far more subscribers than I do.

Andy, I don’t think that would be wrong at all. Mack set up the list based on Alexa rankings which means if you would come in that high, you come in that high. Go for it, what do you have to lose?

I am sure I used to be able to reply to a reply here, did you change the depth?

Maybe my moral upbringing, but it really wouldn’t seem right to rank higher than someone like Mike Sansone who has almost 4 times as many well deserved subscribers.

That being said, The Power 150 seems like fair game :)

I have very few morals about outranking product owners for their own products though.

Cord bra, I like the humility. If ya think it can get better, I’m hangin on. It is pretty slammin now!

Congrats on the accolades, well deserved my friend.

Andy, I think you should go for both and all!! Your site rocks and you put a lot of time and quality in to your posts.. It should be recognized!!

    Antman, thank you very much…

Kudos Cord. You’re towards the top of my reader, and you’ve earned it.

But I have to admit that I’m surprised that anyone still thinks Alexa has any value whatsoever.

Jeremy – Coming from you, I take that as a huge compliment… And I agree with you regarding the Alexa thing. I did not create the rules just living with it. Thanks.
