A True Web Visionary

8 May 2007 by Cord Silverstein, 20 Comments

Thanks for stopping by! Hey, why don't you do what all the cool kids are doing and subscribe to my RSS feed? You know you want to, so go ahead, be bad, be very very bad... :) Thanks.

There are a great many people all around the globe doing truly cutting edge work when it comes to technology and the web. Though I believe that we all take a back seat to one man or I guess I should say one boy.  This gentleman I believe is delivering the most cutting edge work I have ever seen and each time he releases some new work I am more in awe of him than I was before. In the future, his name will be synonymous with other one name icons, like Oprah, Cher, Uma and Bono. Ladies and gentleman, a true web visionary, I give you, DaxFlame.

Cord. I want those 5 minutes back.

    Now.

    ;)

    Cord,

I have not been able to determine up till now if you really like this kid or you are just joking, but can we stop the madness now? Lets not give anything to this young man except a pass to psychiatric ward. TERRIBLE!

Guys, guys, guys, this kid is truly brilliant. Either he has been acting on all this and if he is, we need to hand him the academy award right now or this is actually for real. And if that is the case, this stuff is brilliant. Who would tape himself yelling and hitting himself and crying and then actually post it? It works on so many levels. It’s like driving by a car accident, you know you should not look, but you can’t help it. DaxFlame is the future my friends. :)

    I like his tie….haha

  5. Vince Williams 8 May 2007 at 9:00 pm #

I said it before here, and I’ll say it again:

The kid’s a genius, and he’ll only get better.

This is art of a high order.

It’s brilliant satire, and he is a great comedian.

  6. Brett Evans 8 May 2007 at 11:37 pm #

I wonder how old he is?

  7. Cord Silverstein 9 May 2007 at 8:56 am #

    Brett – I think he is 14

Vince – I could not agree with you more.

  8. Vince Williams 9 May 2007 at 9:15 am #

Dax has said in his videos that he’s 15.

Sorry Cord, I just don’t see the vision on this one. All I was left with after watching was the unanswered question, “What on Earth did I just watch?!” A day later, I still don’t have an answer.

  10. Cord Silverstein 9 May 2007 at 9:57 am #

    Thanks Vince.

Paul – I totally agree with you that is why I think it is so good. I find incredibly interesting things that leave you more questions than answers. Is this kid for real? Is this a setup, written by professionals like lonelygirl15? If so, this kid is an incredible actor. If not and this kid is real, well that brings on a load more questions. That’s why I think Dax rocks the house. Let me know what you think.

    Thanks guys for the comments.

Hes got a good sense of humor for 14, I bet most kids his age wont get it until later.

He is far advanced for his age

  12. Cord Silverstein 9 May 2007 at 10:39 am #

Advanced or seriously deranged, not sure which one. :)

  13. Sean Howard 9 May 2007 at 12:30 pm #

I am still looking for those 5 minutes, Cord!! ;)

  14. Cord Silverstein 9 May 2007 at 12:54 pm #

Sean – You’re in Canada, so aren’t you already like 5 or 10 minutes behind the US anyhow? :)

  15. Paul K 9 May 2007 at 2:25 pm #

Cord, I understand where you’re coming from. Sometimes those pieces that leave you with questions rather than answers can be very powerful. But this one didn’t connect for me like that. There’s not enough here in this single video to make me invest the emotion to care in the kid.

If this is one piece of a serial, and I had seen some other episodes, then maybe I’d get invested, but this particular video just left me saying, “what was that?” It didn’t engage me enough to make me want to go out and seek out other videos or more information about Dax and his story.

Although I will concede that the second question that keeps coming to mind for me, regardless of whether it’s scripted or not is, “Where are his parents?” Are they aware of what he’s putting out there? As the parent of a 3+ year old who can navigate Sesame Street’s website largely unassisted, it does give me chills.

  16. Sean Howard 9 May 2007 at 5:42 pm #

lol. More like 5 or 10 years, Cord. So I guess I’ll apply that to my 5 minute grudge. ;)

  17. Vince Williams 9 May 2007 at 9:25 pm #

Cord is right. Dax is the future. He is a real monster. Delve further into his work and you will see how smart this guy is. He produces his stuff with a flair beyond his years.

    Check this out:

The clip digs down with some nice research to show he is a fake. Incredible actor!

  19. Brett Evans 16 May 2007 at 7:31 am #

lol wow i just watched that video. That is a lot of effort just to reveal someone

  20. Cord Silverstein 16 May 2007 at 11:57 am #

Andy, thanks for the video link. Who knows that is the truth.
