An Idea on How to End the War in Iraq

27 June 2007 by Cord Silverstein, 9 Comments

Let’s spitball a little bit here. I think we can all agree no matter what your political ideology is everyone would like the Iraq war to end so we can get our American soldiers home. I have an idea on how to do this. Let’s get Ann Coulter and drop her into Iraq. After listening to this woman for a very short period of time, I think the insurgents would surrender immediately than continue listening to this loud mouth evil wind bag.

After continuing to listen to what comes out of Ann Coulter’s mouth, I now understand why lions sometimes eat their young.

Disclosure: I am not shilling nor am I fan of John Edwards. I am a fan of intelligent caring people having meaningful conversations that hopefully will make this country and the world a better place to be. Ann Coulter represents everything I abhor in politics and in people.

I have an idea. Let’s start throwing poop at any politician who votes against measures to set a timetable for withdrawal.

I mean it, we set up a website, line up a plastic poop vendor and let people send little political messages along with their poops.

I just think it’s time we give back.

If 2 of you are game, I will set it up.

Just 2 people need to comment that they would do if I set it up.

    Any takers?

I honestly say that I was on her side for the last few years but this is getting old. Ok so she doesn’t like Dems.. we get that, but to attack someone like that with such hatred is beyond comprehension. Maybe we should send her to Iran for a one on one interview with the PM and see if she could shut down the nuclear plants. Just a thought. I also agree that any timetable for withdrawl is idiotic. One more thing.. in all the other wars or conflicts I do not remember informing the world of how we tacticly fight. What the heck is that? every move we make has to be broadcast to the world? Lastly.. this is war and yes I value human life, but do we have to have front page news that innocent civilians died during an air raid? It just happens and it is unfortunate, but it is war and in war sometimes people die.

    Bruins,

You are an Idiot, maybe not all the time, but definitely on this issue.

This isn’t about being in a war. This isn’t about not supporting the troops. Getting out of Iraq has nothing to do with how to behave at wartime.

Any rationale that supports more of the same because we are at war or questions the value of innocent life because, hey, this is war, is utterly absurd.

So you don’t want the news to tell you about the lost innocent life?

Would that upset you too much while you drive your car around a town where the only bomb you will see will be on your TV.

This is about changing a situation that was wrong to begin with. We were lied to to get into this war and the only rationale left for staying in it is that we need to “win”.

    Win what?

Our soldiers are supposed to fight to protect America. How is the war in Iraq protecting america.

How is it doing anything but create a new generation of orphans who blame the US for killing their families.

Bruins, anyone, tell me what we could possibly “win” by being in Iraq for one more day.

    Anyone…

Adam my good sir..this is exactly what people without their own thoughts do.. they call names. Too bad you have such low esteem about yourself. You have acted this pontious and its quite old.

    Adam

You have decided that the only way to end the war is with a timetable. And you feel that those who disagree with you are idiots.

Having a timetable won’t end the war nor the carnage.

Those that disagree with you are not idiots.

    Gentleman,

Thank you for all of your comments and thoughts. This is a hot button issue with at least in my opinion no real good answers. Adam, I agree with you that I would like nothing more than get all of our soldiers home and out of harms way. But unfortunately, now that we are there, if we leave now, are we putting this country in greater jeopardy in the future when Iraq is a staging ground for every nut bag that wants to kill Americans on American soil?

    Coulter is truly depraved.

That little smile of hers at the end of the clip said it all about her character.

She is evil, and so desperately craves attention that she’ll say just about anything to get it.

The Sunni Muslims are socially conservative, so they probably would condemn her as a harlot for the way she dresses and promptly give her some of her own “brand” of justice.

    Adam

You ask a question that can’t be answered. We aren’t going to ‘win’ at this point. It will now be a loss – and it will be a matter of what degree of loss.

The foundation for going in was flawed and contrived, based on some legitimacy that was twisted for justification.

The planning was horrendous, testamount to a complete lack of vision, curiosity, and acceptance of any possiblity of being wrong.

We may have gotten rid of a horrible dictator (a great thing) and helped them hold a few electios (a great thing), but we’ve torn apart the fabric of the country. Now we’ve got wolves roaming the street whose sole purpose is to kill.

Adam – how do you stop that? By simply leaving?
